BIO
I started to paint when I retired which was something, I had always wanted to do but never found the time. Not having had any official training I went to workshops trying all media and gradually decided that I liked to paint in Oil, Acrylic and Pastel. I have developed different styles over the years and the medium I am using dictates the style of the painting. I have had many great tutors who I am eternally grateful to who have taught me to express myself and forget convention just go for it.
I sometimes paint very traditional and sometimes go off grid and abstract.
I have entered many exhibitions and sold my paintings internationally which gives me a real buzz to think that I have paintings hanging on someone’s wall in places like Egypt and Spain.
Currently I am Secretary of Chelmsford Art Society UK which keeps me very busy organising demonstrations and exhibitions.
In my work life I did a lot of organising and went on lots of courses teaching me how to develop my skills and I didn’t know at the time it would become an asset in my retirement.
I love to look at other people’s art which gives me inspiration and I get a real buzz from developing other up and coming artists.
